10 Blatant Media Relationships
by: Malik Sinsear, for Entertainment Have you ever noticed how certain media outlets act as an all-powerful public relations firm for particular people? We have. Here is our list of the top 10 most blatantly symbiotic relationships in media.
2. Time Magazine and Warner Bros films. Big-budget movies should not be getting the cover of the most prestigious news magazine in the world. The Lord of the Rings trilogy isn’t news! That’s fucking pathetic! 3. ESPN and Duke basketball. Duke isn’t overrated. The program has earned every bit of praise it has received…unless the praising is being done on ESPN. Suddenly, Duke becomes the greatest program in history (it isn’t…UK or UCLA takes that) and all of its players are NBA Hall of Famers (see “Jason Williams is the second best PG behind Jason Kidd”—Dickie V). Get off K’s dick, Dick! 4. The Source Magazine and Benzino. That half-breed nigga wack! Period. Wait. He did tell the truth about Eminem. Other than that, he’s wack. 5. Ebony Magazine and Will and Jada. Black love. We get it. Now, spare us. 6. HBO Boxing and Oscar De La Hoya. This guy can’t lose enough! They will always make excuses for him. They’re still trying to figure out a scenario where it can be argued that he’s the greatest fighter of his era (i.e. defeating Trinidad). Well, good luck with all that. 7. Fox News and G.W. Bush. He won. You can stop brainwashing these poor people now. Walmart’s stock fell because you guys kept them glued to the TV all summer. 8. Access Hollywood and Nicole Kidman. Look, man, fuck her! We wanna know what’s going on with that nigga Nipsey Russell. 9. MTV, Spin and Rollingstone Magazine and Eminem. Guess what? Kool Herc invented rap. Guess what else? Nas is the best rapper alive. It’s not happening (again), white people. Stop it.
