Do you long for the day when fans will actually boo two thugs who drop their gloves on the ice? I know I do. You’d think these people, many of whom with their kids in tow, would be enraged by the violent behavior exhibited by these cavemen, but there they are smiling and cheering for the smashing of bone on bone and newly opened facial wounds. Hockey fights truly disgust me. They disgust me because there is implied racism in the acceptance of them. While football players—black football players—cause little to no harm to one another during their fully-padded petty clashes, hockey players remove all headgear and deliberately engage in bloody combat until one man is beaten into submission. What part of the game is that? How many times do we have to witness NASCAR drivers punch each other after races to be outraged by their behavior? Moreover, why do we accept drivers purposely executing maneuvers that lead to horrendous crashes? Honestly, ask yourself why you don’t get upset by the antics of NASCAR drivers. Don’t give me any bullshit about it not being a popular sport, because it is. It’s covered and watched just as much as football and basketball AKA “Nigga Sports.” So, why are you not outraged by the potentially fatal behavior of these “athletes?” In baseball, why it is okay for pitchers to hurl baseballs 90+ MPH at the heads of batters? That is madness. Yet, the madness is seemingly counterbalanced by the batter’s right to charge the pitcher, fully intent on beating the shit out of him. Why don’t these same sports fans who understand the batter’s right to revenge have the same visceral reaction to the sight of Allen Iverson wanting to fight a player who opened a gash on his head with a vicious elbow? Why did so many fans and journalists suggest Chris Kaman would have been completely justified in knocking Reggie Evan’s teeth down his throat after Evan’s grabbed his marbles? Why do baseball purists lovingly tell the tales of Ty Cobb driving his spikes into the chest, legs, arms, crotch and face of second basemen and then turn right around want a nigga NFL player banned for life? You say Cobb’s use of his spikes is a part of the game? Well, I’d agree with you, except we’re talking about different games. Because I’m talking about that ‘cism. My questions are completely rhetorical, of course, because sports are merely a microcosm of the greater problem, which is this: White people are afraid of the physicality of black men. They don’t wanna see niggas having sex and they don’t wanna see niggas throwing up hands. Fucking and fighting do not show up well on the faces of black men in America. The sight of a little black boy pouting makes some silly ass people nervous. Conversely, those celebrated role models in white-dominated sports are admired for their toughness. Ain’t that a bitch?

There are things in sports that are wholly unacceptable, yet somehow sports fans have been conditioned to take these things for granted. Sports fandom is already overpopulated by stupid white men whose woodshop grade was based on how forthcoming they were with details about some of the school’s more slutty female students, so it’s not exactly difficult to brainwash masses of sports fans. Sports fans do not question certain things. Take, for instance, teams brawls and fighting that occur in sports with few niggas. Not only do the majority of sports fans not question brawls and fighting in baseball, hockey and auto-racing, they seemingly celebrate them.
