Speedy Shani Davis Races into the Top Five.

Shani Davis is a proud, articulate, determined and talented young black speedskater from Chicago, who won the gold medal in the Men's 1000m Saturday at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Italy on, becoming the first African-American to win gold in an individual event in Winter Olympic history. Although a nigga winning a gold medal at the Winter Olympics is historic and heart-warming, it is not why we have chosen to recognize Mr. Davis. Fiyastarter.com salutes Shani Davis because he has made white people madder than any other nigga in sports this past week, having decided to not participate in the team pursuit event and instead devote all of his focus to his personal goals (Now, that's black). Every white person, from Bob Costas to Eric Heinden, with a rooting interest in seeing the United States win as many gold medals in Italy as possible was outraged that this nigga wouldn't lend his ample speed to the cause and team with lesser talented white guys and ensure another gold for the USA. Well, fuck them. The fact is because he refused to race in the team pursuit, Shani Davis did ensure a gold medal for a segment of America, and now black America opens her arms to her newest favorite son, while giving white people the finger yet again.

“I’m one of a kind,” Davis said. “I’m a different type of person. I have a different charisma. A lot of people don’t understand me.” On his personal Web site he said, “people saying they hoped I would fall, break my leg, using the n-word.” (HE BLACK!!!!)

“He is going his own way,” said Heiden, five gold medals winner at the 1980 Lake Placid Games. “He’s very different to a lot of speedskaters, and we have to respect that, but he is not a team player.” (HE WHITE!!!)
